The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. D.M. Butala, President (2022) of IIChE and Executive Director of Gujarat State Fertilizers Company Ltd.

Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) marked a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions today with the inauguration of a 10-KW rooftop Grid Connected Solar Plant at the Headquarters building of IIChE.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. D.M. Butala, President (2022) of IIChE and Executive Director of Gujarat State Fertilizers Company Ltd.; Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director of Vikram Solar Ltd.; Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO of Heritage Group of Institutions; and Prof. (Dr.) Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata along with other distinguished guests from the institution.

Prof. Anil Saroha, President, IIChE and HOD, Chemical Engineering IIT Delhi said “IIChE's commitment to Sustainable Development is evident through various initiatives and programs aimed at promoting a green environment. The rooftop solar plant is the latest addition to IIChE's Carbon Reduction Drive. We are grateful to Vikram Solar for their support in installing and commissioning the project at IIChE HQ. The project seeks to educate students in Chemical Engineering and allied disciplines through training programs, workshops, seminars, and more, focusing on sustainability, energy conservation, safety, and the environment. ”
