Heritage Institute of Technology organized its 6th Graduation Ceremony on 7th January 2022 for the B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA Batch-2022 students which was graced by Prof. V.N.Rajsekharan Pillai, Former Chairman, UGC and Vice-Chancellor, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai as the Chief Guest. Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ, Vice Chancellor, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, and Mr. R.S. Goenka, Founder & Joint Chairman, Emami Group were the Guests of Honour in the same.

During the inaugural address, Prof. Pillai stressed that technology had made a sea change in India's education sector. “The primary objective of education is to enhance the quality of life not just only for mankind but also for the entire universe. During the Covid years, India witnessed the maximum number of collaborations in the education sector and during those years, there had been various developments in the sector starting from the introduction of the new education policy. Also, technological development has supported the transformation of education immensely which has been a remarkable milestone in this sector,” said Prof. Pillai.

“It is not a competition but a collaboration that matters the most in education today,” opined Prof. Pillai stating the necessity of collaboration which had revived and transformed the education sector.

Rev. Dr. Felix Raj congratulated the Graduands and spoke on the new phase of life that will begin when they embark on their journey in the corporate world as engineers. “You should shine like a candle showing light for the others in this society,” said Rev Dr. Felix Raj during his address to the young graduands.

“Graduation is not just earning a degree but it is more than this. It is your duty to take care of the society and be leaders who can contribute towards Nation Building,” said Mr. R.S. Goenka during his address at the 6th Graduation Ceremony.

The Graduation ceremony was formally opened by the Vice Chancellor of MAKAUT, Prof. Saikat Maitra who presided over the programme. “I congratulate the Institute for providing such an excellent platform to the young graduands setting an example of excellence in the field of engineering education. I encourage the graduands to grab the opportunities which are coming in their way in the field of engineering that has witnessed a sea change basically in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning,” said Prof. Maitra encouraging the young graduands.

The Institute’s toppers of topper in B.Tech was bagged by Susmita Ganguly scoring a CGPA of 9.76 from Electronics and Communications Engineering stream and in M.Tech it was bagged by Swagata Barik from the Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering stream who scored a CGPA of 10 out of a 10 point scale.

The programme was also graced by Shri H.K.Chaudhary, Chairman, Heritage Group of Institutions, Shri P.R.Agarwala, Chairman, Heritage Institute of Technology, Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology, Prof. Soma Bandyopadhyay, Vice Chancellor, West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA), Prof. B.B.Paira, Founder Director, Heritage Institute of Technology, Prof. D.C.Ray, Former Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology, Mr. Probir Roy, Director, KBT, and others.

More than 600 graduands attended the ceremony along with their parents. Heritage's faculty members and administrative staff coordinated the entire programme, making it successful.
