Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir organised an invitational Girls’ Football Tournament “SOCCER-22” from 10 to 14 November, 2022 on the BGKV ground. The tournament was sponsored by the German Football Academy. About 7 schools from all over Kolkata participated in the event, namely Ashok Hall Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Aditya Academy Secondary School, Barasat, Aditya Academy Senior Secondary School, Dumdum, Sri Aurobindo Institute, DPS Ruby Park, Ruby Park Public School and BGKV. The Principal of BGKV Kolkata, Shree Arun Kumar Dasgupta, Vice Principal Smt. Monami Chattopadhyay and Deputy Director Smt. Sujata Ghosh graced the occasion of the final match.
On 14 November, 2022 the final match of the tournament was played between the two teams- Aaditya Academy Secondary, Barasat and DPS Ruby Park, Kolkata. The former team won the cup by a margin of 2 goals. At the end of the match, the scoreline was 2-0. The match engaged the audience with utmost excitement and curiosity.

The match commenced at 2:30 pm as the referee and the players entered the field. Excitement spread out among the spectators from all sides as attacks and counter attacks were offered by both the opponents at every moment.
Perhaps, it was the day of the Adityans as 1 goal each came from Puja Ray and Archita Saha. Anushka Biswas of Aditya Academy Secondary, Barasat became the Best Player of the Tournament and the title of the Best Player of the Match was conferred upon Puja Ray of the same school. The Principal, Vice Principal and Deputy Director themselves handed over the students their deserving trophies.
Soccer-22 conducted by BGKV, Kolkata was a grand success this year. We hope and look forward to such events on a grander scale in the near future too.
