Japan: Magnitude 5.7 earthquake strikes off east coast of Honshu, EMSC says

The quake was at a depth of 31 km, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said

An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan, on Wednesday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

The quake was at a depth of 31 km, EMSC said. It earlier put the magnitude at 6.5 and depth at 57 km.

There were no immediate reports of damage after the quake.
