Picknicker drowns in Teesta, body recovered

Bidisha Ghosh, 21, of Bhaktinagar in Siliguri, drowned in the Teesta river on Friday.

On Saturday, volunteers of civil defence recovered her body almost 12 hours after she went missing in the river.

Police sources said Bidisha and some others had been to Domohoni, which is under Maynaguri police station and is located on the left bank of the Teesta river, for a picnic, when she went missing.

Police were informed and a search was launched to find her.
