Man shot at by youth on bikes

A man was shot at in Dum Dum on Friday by a group of motorcycle-borne young men.

A group of youths riding two-wheelers slowed down near a tea stall at Dum Dum Park on Friday evening and opened fire on Biswajit Prasad, who is the president of a Dum Dum Park Tarun Dal club, police said. They apparently hurled bombs while fleeing.

Prasad, who was at the stall with friends, received splinter injuries and had to be admitted to hospital. A bomb has been seized from the area. Investigations are on, the police said.

Trinamul MLA Sujit Bose visited Prasad, who is apparently close to the ruling party, in hospital.
