A temple on the fringes of Bengdubi forest near Bagdogra was damaged by a herd of wild elephants on Tuesday. The animals damaged the grills of the shrine and left after some time, said local people. “The herd probably raided the temple in search of food grains. The priest and some others who were there escaped unhurt,” said a forester.
