Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 hits Bhutan, tremors felt in Bengal, northeast

According to German Research Centre for Geosciences, the earthquake struck Bhutan at a depth of 10 km at around 11:06 pm

Tremors were felt in different parts of Bengal and the northeast after a 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit Bhutan around 11:06 pm on Sunday.

According to the Indian meteorological department, Kolkata, the earthquake struck Bhutan at a depth of 26 km.

The earthquake's epicentre was located at Punakha in Bhutan, north of Bengal.
