The BJP on Friday announced Agnimitra Paul and Keya Ghosh as its candidates for the bypolls to the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency and the Ballygunge Assembly segment, respectively.
Paul is the sitting MLA of Asansol South.

The Trinamul Congress and the CPM have already announced their candidates for the two seats where the bypolls will be held on April 12. Votes will be counted on April 16.
The Asansol seat vacant following the resignation of Babul Supriyo, who is now the Trinamul candidate in Ballygunge. The Ballygunge bypoll was necessitated by the death of minister and MLA Subrata Mukherjee in October.
