A 90-year-old woman was among three persons killed in accidents in the city between Thursday and Friday.
Chinu Kundu, 90, died after a private bus knocked her down in front of GD Birla school in Ranikuthi around 8.35am on Friday. Kundu, a resident of Bapujinagar near Jadavpur, was trying to cross the road when she was hit, witnesses said.
A case of death by negligence has been started against the driver.
A biker was found lying unconscious off a service road at Survey Park in Santoshpur around 1.45am. Prabir Das, 35, a resident of Panditiya Road, was declared dead at hospital.
The police said he possibly fell while trying to negotiate a speed bump at high speed.
On Thursday, around 8pm, a bus on route 78/1 (Esplanade-Khardah) ran over a woman while she was crossing SN Banerjee Road. Kamala Devi, 65, was declared dead at SSKM Hospital. The bus has been sent for a mechanical test.
