22-year-old falls to death in Calcutta

A 22-year-old cook in a high-rise building on Deodar Street, off Ballygunge, died after he fell from a seventh-floor balcony on Tuesday.

Subhodh Yadav was originally from Bihar and had been working in the apartment block for over five years.

Police started a murder case based on a complaint filed by his family.

The post-mortem report said Yadav died because of fall from height.

“Alcohol was found in his stomach. The apparent cause of death was fall from height,” said an officer.
