Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has given its bestselling compact SUV, Punch, a makeover and reintroduced it as the Punch Command Max. The vehicle has been introduced in as many as 26 variants! They include both the petrol powered as well as the iCNG versions.
The petrol ranges from ₹5.59 lakh at the showroom in Delhi for the base Revotron petrol manual and goes up to ₹9.79 lakh at the top end for the iTurbo manual. The iCNG range starts from ₹6.69 lakh for the base manual and goes up to ₹10.54 lakh for the top trim AMT model. The iTurbo petrol does not get an AMT version and seems to have been targeted at driving enthusiasts since it makes more power from the same 1.2-litre petrol engine.
There are other improvements over the earlier version as well. The iCNG twin-cylinder technology with AMT transmission is a first. The iTurbo engine produces about 120hp. In terms of features, it gets a 65W front type-C USB charger, rain sensing wipers, high resolution 26.03cm HD infotainment system, auto dimming internal mirror, 360° high-definition surround view system, rear seat arm rest, climate control, air purifier, tyre pressure monitoring system, and more. That probably takes it right up there in terms of features.
The Punch Command Max also gets hill descent control and hill hold control, apart from a whole bunch of safety features. The bottomline is that it has got a five-star safety rating.
