ChatGPT can’t keep up with Kim Kardashian. Or is it the other way around?! The Kardashians star, who graduated from her law programme in May, recently revealed in a video interview that she used ChatGPT to help her study for exams... but it didn’t quite deliver.
Speaking in Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test series, the reality star said she often turns to the OpenAI tool for “legal advice”. “So when I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture, snap it and put it in there,” she explained.
Isn’t that cheating, Kim? Kardashian described ChatGPT as a “frenemy” and admitted that she often yells at it when it gives her incorrect information. ChatGPT, of course, is prone to what experts call “hallucinations” — in other words, the large language model can occasionally fabricate answers rather than admit that it doesn’t know.
But the 45-year-old had a comeback line ready: “They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests. All the time. And then I’ll get mad and yell at it and be like, ‘You made me fail. Why did you do this?’ And it will talk back to me.”
That’s right: She claims ChatGPT actually tried to make amends each time she had a heart-to-heart with the bot.
She said: “I’ll talk to it and say, ‘Hey, you’re going to make me fail. How does that make you feel, that I really need to know these answers and I’m coming to you?’ … And then it’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. You knew the answers all along.’”
In a recent episode of her show, Kardashian also denied that the 1969 moon landing ever happened. NASA’s acting administrator — and former Real World contestant — Sean Duffy replied to her on X: “Yes, Kim Kardashian, we’ve been to the moon before... six times!”
