The love-it-or-hate-it-but-we-all-know-we-watched-it reboot ended this week, and just like that, it’s the end of an era. As Sex And The City fans bid farewell to Carrie Bradshaw — played by Sarah Jessica Parker — their forever fashion muse, t2 puts together a list of 10 favourite Carrie looks from And Just Like That.

1) Carrie and the Tutu

Kicking off this list is a look from Season 1, Episode 4. Carrie trotting down the stairs of her brownstone in a pouffy white tutu and casual striped sweater, her favourite sequin Fendi Baguette in tow. A nod to the iconic white tutu from the opening title sequence, could there be a more Carrie Bradshaw moment?

2) The Vivienne Westwood Dress

This ice blue satin ‘Cinderella dress’ with a sheared grey satin tulle underskirt was a piece from the British designer Vivienne Westwood’s personal wardrobe sold at Christie’s global charity auction. Carrie and Vivenne Westwood have deep SATC history (including her wedding dress), so this costume coup in AJLT was such a delightful treat.

3) Miss-Matched Perfection

Belted cropped floral pants by Zimmermann and a printed vintage top are in a casual kitchen scene. While most (none?) of us would have not thought of putting these two separates together, all of us can agree that this, right here, is a masterclass in print mixing.

4) Corset Meets Cardigan

A spring-summer 2009 Dolce & Gabbana dress was layered with an exquisite sheer embellished corset to create this show-stopping look. Throw in an oversized grey cardigan and Internet sleuths dared to trace this sweater styling to Maison Margiela (or Kim Kardashian in MET). Luckily, us OGs already know that Carrie is the original queen of cool-contrast.

5) Sheer Romance

One of the dreamiest looks of the show was this dainty floral-applique tulle midi dress and matching embellished tulle parka by Simone Rocha. It was also instantly iconic, making it to the windows of NYC’s Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store this summer as part of a special display to mark the show’s new season.

6) Going Big In Paris

This spectacular Valentino ballgown (Fall 2019 Couture Collection) closed the curtains on the first season of AJLT. It was beyond perfect for the Paris scene as she said goodbye to Big forever — vibrant tangerine colour, exaggerated sleeves, bow-tie detail, gloves, and a dazzling Eiffel Tower Bag by Timmy Woods. Let’s just say, she went Big.

7) The New ‘Carrie’ Dress

It’s hard to delegate a signature silhouette to someone like Carrie, but we can all agree if there’s one that has her name all over it, it’s a body-sculpting dress (likely worn for cocktails with her girls, sky-high heels and evening bag in hand). Enter this Alex Perry crepe midi-dress accentuated by rhinestones and boxy shoulders, aka the new ‘Carrie’ Dress.

8) The Madras Moment

Carrie rocked a Madras-check jumpsuit layered with a vintage Madras colour-block blazer by Norma Kamali in one of the early podcast-shooting episodes. The bold rainbow colours, embroidered belt and the flawless waves… this look had ‘memorable’ written all over it.

9) The Bomb Cyclone Gown

Snow storm, but make it FASHION. Carrie trudged the snow-blanketed streets of New York City in a puffer-coat-gown courtesy Pierpaolo Piccioli’s 2019 capsule collection for Moncler Piccioli, making sure this dramatic coat-meets-gown continues to live in our heads, rent-free.

10) Denim & Pearls

A mid-wash denim maxi button-down skirt, layered over another voluminous skirt, proportionately balanced with a waist-cinching plaid jacket and finished with an oversized woolen shawl. Oh, and delicate pearls. So simple, yet so Carrie. And just like that, we have ourselves a fall-winter moodboard.
