Weekly league for bridge

The West Bengal Bridge Association (WBBA), with noted bridge enthusiast and managing director of Shree Cement HM Bangur as its patron, will introduce a weekly league for Pairs and and Team events in the state, newly-elected secretary Debasish Ray said on Friday.

Ray, who was captain of the Indian bridge team that won gold and bronze in the last Asian Games at Jakarta, said that to uplift the standard of this mind game, WBBA will also organise an annual inter-college-cum-junior state championship besides hosting regular coaching camps in the city and other districts of Bengal.

Ray was unanimously elected secretary at its annual general meeting on Tuesday.
