Lanka left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya (2/33) bagged the wickets of openers Dom Sibley (0) and Zak Crawley (5) for the third time in a row.

Vinothen John, a right-arm medium fast bowler, is the only other Lankan who boasts of such a record as he had dismissed New Zealand openers Geoff Howarth and John Wright in 3 consecutive innings in 1984.
