India’s limited overs tour of Sri Lanka will be postponed by a few days after members of the Sri Lankan contingent that returned from the UK tested positive for Covid-19.

The three-match ODI series, which was scheduled to begin on July 13, is now expected to start on July 17 or 18.

Sources told The Telegraph that the rescheduling is because Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) wanted its players and support staff to go through an extended period of quarantine as part of safety measures.

SLC is set to announce the revised schedule on Saturday after discussions with the BCCI. Sri Lanka team’s data analyst GT Niroshan tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, a day after its batting coach Grant Flower contracted the virus.
