Didier Deschamps to make changes in team for Kazakhstan game

France coach Didier Deschamps hinted he would make several changes to his team to face Kazakhstan in their next World Cup qualifier on Sunday to preserve his players’ health after a lacklustre draw against Ukraine in their opening game.

The world champions kicked off their qualifying campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Ukraine.

Antoine Griezmann put France ahead but Ukraine levelled in the second half through a Presnel Kimpembe own goal.

“There’s going to be some changes for the Kazakhstan game,” Deschamps said.

Turkey pulled off an impressive 4-2 win at home to the Netherlands, powered by a Burak Yilmaz hat-trick.

Croatia slumped to a shock 1-0 defeat away to Slovenia, while Belgium beat Wales 3-1.

Czech Republic routed Estonia 6-2 and Portugal scraped past Azerbaijan 1-0 courtesy an own goal.
