India’s Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan hold top two spots in ICC T20I rankings

India’s Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan continue to occupy the top two spots in the latest T20I batting rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday.

Abhishek leads the list with 875 rating points, with Kishan close behind on 871. India have two more batters in the top 10, with Tilak Varma at sixth and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav at seventh. There has been limited movement in the top 20.

England’s Jos Buttler has moved up one place to eighth, while New Zealand’s Tim Seifert has slipped one position to ninth.

South Africa’s Connor Esterhuizen has recorded a sharp rise after his performance in the recent T20I series against New Zealand. The 24-year-old scored 200 runs in five matches and was named Player of the Series, helping his side to a 3-2 win.

He has moved from outside the top 100 to 39th in the batting rankings. New Zealand’s Tim Robinson has also gained two places to reach joint 32nd after scoring 81 runs in the same series. In the bowling rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remains at No.1.

India’s Varun Chakaravarthy is placed second, while Jasprit Bumrah holds the fifth spot. Several South African bowlers have moved up following the series win over New Zealand.

Gerald Coetzee has climbed 36 places to joint 52nd, Ottneil Baartman is up 10 spots to 56th, and George Linde has risen six places to joint 62nd. New Zealand seamer Zakary Foulkes has also moved up 11 places to 70th.

In the all-rounders’ rankings, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza continues to lead the table, with India’s Hardik Pandya in second place.

Coetzee has also made gains in the all-rounders’ list, moving up 14 places to joint 72nd after taking eight wickets and scoring 18 runs in the series.
