The Congress in Manipur has filed a no-confidence motion against the BJP-led coalition government led by N. Biren Singh.
Manipur PCC spokesperson Ningombam Bupenda Meitei revealed the development on Tuesday through a tweet which said party MLAs K. Meghachandra and T. Lokeshwar submitted the no-confidence notice to Assembly secretary. A one-day session is scheduled for August 10.
The development comes amid reports of an intense power struggle within the ruling BJP and a high-profile drug seizure case of 2018, which the Congress wants handed over to the CBI.
