Manipur CM N. Biren Singh visits two hospitals

Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh paid a surprise visit to the market complexes here and two major hospitals to make an assessment of the precautionary measures being taken up against coronavirus.

The government has shut down major markets in the state for five days from Saturday besides ordering closure of malls, shopping complexes, restaurants, eateries, theatre halls, cinema halls, conference halls and tourist spots.

The transport department has also ordered suspension of all kinds of passenger services in the state from Monday.

An order issued on Saturday by special secretary, home, Gyan Prakash, said grocery and vegetable shops will remain open.
