A man allegedly killed his wife as she failed to cook lunch for him “on time” on Friday afternoon in Numaligarh’s Sundarpur amid the nationwide lockdown.

A source said the person, identified as Baijnath Tappa, killed his wife Parbati because she had failed to serve him lunch on time.

Parbati was beaten black and blue with a stick and died of her injuries before the ambulance could arrive.

Baijnath tried to escape but local residents apprehended him and handed him over to the police.

He is being interrogated and an investigation is on.
