NDRF sanitises Guwahati areas

The city-based 1st Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force carried out area sanitisation at various locations here on Thursday.

The areas sanitised by the NDRF include Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Office, United India Insurance Company Limited and State Bank of India Branch in Bijoynagar, Azara police station and Krishna Kanta Handiqui State University.

The teams sprayed disinfectant of sodium hypochlorite in public places.

The NDRF also distributed food to more than 500 people, mostly contractual labourers from different parts of Assam, at Katamura locality in Changsari town of Kamrup district under the supervision of assistant commandant Sanjeev Kumar Sinha and in collaboration with G. Jain Rituraj Hotel, Guwahati.
