Srijit Mukherji and Rohan Sippy have come together to direct a unique sleuth web series set in Bengal. Unlike several other detectives, this character isn’t natively from Bengal, but has been adapted to belong in the land of Feluda and Byomkesh. Jio Cinema recently unveiled the trailer of Shekhar Home, a web series inspired by the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, set in the 1990s, in the town of Lonpur, Bengal. Kay Kay Menon stars as the titular character, whose life changes when he meets Ranvir Shorey’s Jayvrat Sahni, and the two become unexpected allies who solve mysteries together. The trailer perfectly teases the unique cases the duo will undertake, as they overcome their differences in order to make their way through Bengal’s sinister landscape. Also starring Rasika Dugal and Kirti Kulhari, the show will premiere on Jio Cinema on August 14. We now know what we’re doing on our Independence Day holiday!
