Hari Das Saha Market was established in 1941. Locally it is known as Hari Saha Market or Harisha Market. It is Kolkata’s one of the cheapest and biggest wholesale markets for readymade garments
From womenswear, menswear to kidswear, the market sells garments at wholesale prices
The prices for kidswear start from Rs 15. However, one has to buy in bulk. The minimum number is six
The garments sold here aren’t branded, but locally stitched
The vendors here come from Basirhat, Canning and Bongoan. The customers usually are owners of shops in and around Kolkata
However, the sellers also get flying customers ahead of festivals like Eid and Poila Baishakh
While the buyers and sellers go about their business all night, they can also keep themselves fueled with food and drinks from the hawkers
One can reach Hari Das Saha Market from all major railway stations of Kolkata. The market opens at 10pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays and goes on till 7am the next day. In the morning, the wholesale market sells garments at retail prices
