Themed on the Feluda-Topshe duo from Satyajit Ray’s books and films, a new casual dine and takeaway christened Topshhey, has come up on the lane opposite South City Mall. It serves coastal dishes from Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and abroad, giving a fresh look to the seafood scene in the city. They also serve fish delicacies directly from across the coasts and Bengal riverfronts and the ground spices used in the dishes are transported from south India. They have a few non-fish items too. It is also the perfect cosy cafe to celebrate birthdays, reunions or any other occasions with customisable food items and combinations available according to personal choices. With rustic interiors, one can sit and read while munching on delicious fish fries.
“We are associated with the tourism industry and go around the country and parts of the world. We keep on trying a variety of cuisines. Here at Topshhey we are serving mainly fish-based cuisines... river and sea fisheses. Calcutta fish lovers can get the best quality in terms of size and taste here,” said Raja Dasgupta, one of the owners.
Head for your Bhai Phonta celebrations — a quintessential Bengali festival dedicated to brothers — to Topshhey this year.
