An eight-year-old boy was killed and at least six others were injured in two separate accidents on the Ramgarh-Bokaro national highway on Sunday morning.

Schoolboy Amrit Kumar, 8, of Jhopari Colony near Kadamganchh, was cycling to the market to buy potatoes when he was hit by a pickup van coming from the opposite side.

The second accident occurred around 10.30am at Balidih when a 30-year-old biker was hit by another van, which then went on to hit another auto-rickshaw with five passengers. The biker is critically injured while the five sitting in the auto also suffered various degrees of injuries.
