Apart from sensitising residents, the administration will initiate stricter measures like police-checking for masks on roads. It will also ask petrol pumps and grocery shops to not entertain customers without masks.

The administration will also screen short films and launch no grocery-no mask campaigns, selfies with masks on social media platforms and other activities to create awareness on Covid-19.

The deputy commissioner said, “CAWACH is a massive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) drive to combat Covid-19. It will target various sections of the population. The major agenda is to conduct massive awareness on social distancing, wearing masks and handwashing.”

The campaign is being launched massively in market areas, vegetable haats, offices, industrial establishments and others. The focus will be on formal sector employees, informal sector workers like labourers, street vendors, domestic maids, school children, homemakers and youths and the vulnerable population, including elderly, pregnant women, infants, physically challenged.

The administration is going to air a dedicated channel called Smiling Bokaro on local cable networks to disseminate Covid-related infotainment.

CAWACH also involves a mega motivation drive among covid warriors.

A Hero Campaign will showcase exemplary work of doctors, frontline health workers, men in uniform, district administration, drivers, people running didi kitchens and daal bhat Kendra’s and volunteers.

A Har Ghar CAWACH campaign will be conducted with stickers on home-delivered water jars, cylinders and through pamphlet distribution using Swiggy.
