CBSE evaluators in the city will start assessing answer sheets from Tuesday.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was supposed to start the evaluation process from Sunday as the Union home ministry agreed to a human resource development ministry proposal in this regard on Saturday.
School principals in Jamshedpur received an official email on Monday with guidelines to help them with the evaluation work, which came to a halt on March 22, the day of the Janata Curfew, which started the full-fledged lockdown in Jharkhand.
This time the evaluators will be allowed to evaluate answer sheets at their residences.
Those who want to check the copies at the designated centres and not at home will have to follow all safety protocols including using masks, hand sanitisers and abiding by physical distancing norms.
In a first, evaluators have been asked to bring their own food as well.
Seven schools in Jamshedpur — Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Valley View School in Telco; DAV Public School and St Mary’s English High School in Bistupur; Baldwin Farm Area High School in Kadma; Jamshedpur Public School in Baridih and SDSM School for Excellence in Sidhgora — are the designated evaluation centres in the city.
“The only difference is that the head examiner who used to supervise other evaluators will also have to evaluate the answer sheets this time. Also, we have asked evaluators to bring their own food, which we used to provide from our canteen,” said Alka Arvind Kumar, principal of Valley View School in Telco
For those evaluators who do not come to the centre, the CNS (central nodal supervisor) — usually the principal of the school — will have to ensure pick and drop of the answer sheets every day. The CNS will have to ensure that the copies are delivered to the teachers, picked up and brought to the centre. All the centres will be properly sanitised before the evaluation starts.
