Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 34 ministers in BJP's first list of 195 candidates for Lok Sabha polls

The first list has 28 women, 47 candidates under the age of 50, 57 from the OBC section, 27 from scheduled caste and 18 from scheduled tribes

The BJP on Saturday announced its list of candidates for 195 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha seats, the dates of which are yet to be finalized.

The party announced the names of 20 candidates out of the 42 in Bengal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been re-nominated from Varanasi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah from Gandhinagar.

Names of 51 candidates from Uttar Pradesh, 24 from Rajasthan, five from Delhi, 15 from Gujarat and Rajasthan, 12 from Kerala, nine seats from Telangana, 11 from Assam, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, two from Jammu and Kashmir, three from Uttarakhand, two in Arunachal Pradesh and one each from Daman & Diu, Tripura and Goa.

The first list has 28 women, 47 candidates under the age of 50, 57 from the OBC section, 27 from scheduled caste and 18 from scheduled tribes.

“We have tried to give representation to all sections of the society,” said Vinod Tawde, national general secretary of the BJP.
