“Derogatory” comments are being made about parliamentary procedure, a Union minister quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi as telling BJP parliamentarians on Tuesday.

Minister V. Muraleedharan did not name anyone. On Monday, Trinamul Congress MP Derek O’Brien had tweeted: “In the first 10 days, Modi-Shah rushed through and passed 12 Bills at an average time of UNDER SEVEN MINUTES per Bill. Passing legislation or making papri chaat!”

On Tuesday, in response to Modi’s purported comments, O’Brien ordered papri chat and tucked into a plateful at the Trinamul Congress office in New Delhi’s South Avenue.
