7 labourers on their way from Surat hit by truck on Lucknow-Ayodhya National Highway on Friday

Six migrant workers on their way home were killed in accidents in Uttar Pradesh since Thursday evening, police said.

In Barabanki, seven labourers returning from Surat were hit by a truck on the Lucknow-Ayodhya National Highway on Friday. Shishupal, 32, his brother Jeetendra, 30, and uncle Mohan Nishad, 40, were killed. In Jalaun, a truck ferrying 45 migrant workers back from Mumbai fell into a ditch on Thursday. Sundari and Sher Bahadur Gautam were killed and 40 were injured. Ghulam Jilani, 28, was killed when another truck from Mumbai overturned in his home district Bahraich.
