Thirty-seven cantonment hospitals across the country will start ayurveda clinics from May 1 to provide more people “the benefits” of Indian traditional medicines.
“With a view to provide benefits of the Indian traditional Ayurveda system of medicine to a wider clientele, defence ministry has decided to operationalise Ayurveda centres at 37 cantonment hospitals across the country from May 01, 2022,” a defence ministry statement said.
The move will make available well-established and time-tested ayurveda therapies to the residents of cantonments, including armed forces personnel, their families and civilians, the statement said.
These 37 hospitals are based in cities such as Barrackpore, Agra, Allahabad, Ahmedabad, Bareilly, Dehradun, Shahjahanpur, Jabalpur and Badami Bagh.
