An anime version of the classic animated series Tom and Jerry, currently airing in Japan, will be available to watch on YouTube soon.
WB Kids YouTube channel recently shared a teaser of the anime series, Tom & Jerry Gokko, which reimagines the classic show with a quirky twist and a soft, pastel-colour art style.
The 45-second-long teaser features the cat and mouse frenemies pulling their classic antics as they chase and fight each other.
“It's your favorite cartoon cat and mouse as you've never seen them before,” WB Kids wrote alongside the video on YouTube.
The anime, which debuted in Japan in 2022, is a series of animated shorts based on Tom and Jerry. Apart from the duo, the show also features the mischievous young mouse Tuffy.
While Megumi Aratake voices Tom and Tyke, Aya Yonekura has brought Jerry and Toots to life with his voice. Eiri Tanaka and Nana Kumagai have lent their voices to Tuffy. Yoshida Yuusuke features as Spike, while Kaori Iida voices Quacker.
Warner Bros.’s Tom and Jerry first aired in 1940 and has won seven Academy Awards since its premiere. The show follows the life of a house cat, Tom, and his hilarious albeit futile attempts to catch a mouse, Jerry.
