Anne Hathaway plays a middle-aged single mother who falls for a much younger boy band star, Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), in the trailer of Amazon Prime Video’s The Idea of You.

Dropped by the streamer on Wednesday, the two-minute-32-second-long trailer begins with Hathaway’s Solène and Galitzine’s Hayes reminiscing the first time they met at a Coachella during the latter’s concert with his band August Moon. Sparks soon begin to fly between the duo and a full-fledged relationship ensues. But when their relationship goes public, it triggers a massive backlash, leading Solène to wonder why her happiness would draw the ire of other people.

Based on a novel by Robinne Lee, the upcoming romantic film, slated to premiere on Prime Video on May 2, shares similarities with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Lopez’s 2022 comedy Marry Me. In the upcoming movie, Galitzine’s character is inspired by Harry Styles and his band One Direction.

Hathaway had previously shared a poster of the film. “When the last thing you expect becomes the only thing you want ✨,” she had written on Instagram.

Also starring Ella Rubin, The Idea of You is directed by Michael Showalter and produced jointly by Amazon MGM Studios, Belle Hope Productions, Somewhere Pictures and Welle Entertainment.
