The ceremony, hosted by Alan Cumming at the Royal Festival Hall, also honoured Dame Donna Langley with the Bafta Fellowship for her exceptional contribution to the industry.

Alongside Dharmendra, the tribute segment remembered Tom Stoppard, Brigitte Bardot, Udo Kier and Diane Ladd, among others.

Jessie Ware paid tribute to Barbara Streisand by covering one of her songs during the In Memoriam section.

Dharmendra died on November 24, just weeks shy of his 90th birthday, after a prolonged illness.

The He-Man of Bollywood made his debut in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. He rose to fame in the 1960s with films like Anpadh, Bandini, Anupama and Aaya Sawan Jhoom Ke, before becoming one of Bollywood’s top leading men with iconic performances in Sholay, Dharam Veer, Chupke Chupke, Mera Gaon Mera Desh and Dream Girl.

The actor worked in more than 300 films during his acting career spanning over six decades.

Dharmendra’s last big screen outing was Sriram Raghavan’s war drama Ikkis.

Previously, Indian legends like singer Lata Mangeshkar, actor Dilip Kumar, Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor have been honoured in the BAFTA In Memoriam section.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt attended the ceremony as one of the presenters.

Alia, in her debut as a Bafta presenter, delivered her opening remarks in Hindi.

Farhan Akhtar-backed Boong, a Manipuri-language coming-of-age drama and the only Indian entry in this year's nominations, won the Bafta for Best Children’s Film, marking a rare victory for an Indian production in this category.
