Bajaj Auto and Triumph had announced the partnership in August 2017.

The bikes produced under the brand will be available from 2022 and will have prices starting at less than Rs 2 lakh, Triumph Motorcycles chief commercial officer Paul Stroud said in Pune on Friday.

The partnership will build a new engine and vehicle platform in the mid-capacity range (200-800 cc) and offer multiple options to address different segments in this class.

A joint press statement said the strategic partnership will benefit both parties with Bajaj Auto becoming one of Triumph’s key distribution partners in new markets for the latter’s brand globally.

Bajaj Auto will take over Triumph’s Indian distribution activities at a later date.
