It was expected to be a double delight for race lovers with Yarmouth and Ayr meetings grabbing eyeballs today. But things panned out differently, to put it mildly.

Overnight rain at Yarmouth affected the races to the extent where there were a host of withdrawals, with some of them being favourites. To do some number-crunching, there were as many as 28 withdrawals in a card of eight races.

And at Ayr, despite weather conditions being fine, as well as a good track to go with, spotting a winner was difficult as several lesser fancied horses popped up at the finish line.

At Yarmouth, Adam Kirby bagged a double with War Leader winning decisively. Kirby won his first race with Raajihah in the quinnbet.com handicap.

At Ayr, the day belonged to Daniel Tudhope who clinched a double riding Noorban in the Bet At racingtv.com Handicap. His first win came when he partnered Tamaska to victory in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap.
