Calcutta: The Bangalore challenger Tenno Sho—a final entry at the cost of more than Rs 3.5 lakh—proved too good for the opposition, including the local champion, Trafalgar, on his way to winning the 1,400m Calcutta Colts Trial Stakes, here, on Tuesday.
Trevor Patel partnered the Neil Darashah-trainee to a shade under threelength victory. The jockey had the Phoenix Tower son settled close behind the early leaders and also of Trafalgar (A. Sandesh) who had build up a winning lead in the final furlong but failed when challenged.
