The Telegraph Online Edugraph organised Skillfest 2022 to celebrate the young talent of our country
Students from all over West Bengal participated in the contest

With the intent of celebrating the young talents of our state, The Telegraph Online Edugraph organised Skillfest 2022 to enable and empower high school students from across West Bengal. The competition received numerous entries in the 5 separate categories and the winners hae finally been decided.

Content creation is an essential skill in today’s time and our winner Hiyaneijemmy Das has a genuine talent for it. A brilliant class 12 student from The Assam Valley School she defines her own experience in a beautifully created piece that allowed us to delve into her thought process. In this category, the contest asked students to exhibit their content writing skills in an article format on the topic “Impact of social media on genZ”.

Edugraph caught up with Hiyaneijemmy after the win and here’s what she has to say “It was a lot of fun participating in Skillfest 2022, and I really appreciate the chance it gave me to learn something new and to hone my skills. I am very glad to have won in this category and I know I must have gone up against many excellent writers. I learnt a lot from this experience and can't wait to write even more”.

When asked about the idea behind her writing she said “I was actually on vacation when I wrote the article, so I decided that it would be difficult for me to really research and write on the topic of social media, which was given to us. Besides, everyone knows about it and it has been written a million times before. I thought, why not write about my own experience, something only I could write. That was my process going into the content creation”.

We also reached out to the Dean of Assam Valley School, Mr Tushar Bhardwaj. “I would like to thank The Telegraph Online Edugraph for organising SkillFest 2022 which gave our young students a wonderful platform to showcase their creativity. Congratulations to Hiyaneijemmy Das, of The Assam Valley School on being adjudged the Winner of the Content Creation category. She is an extremely talented and creative student and has done well across diverse fields including Debating, MUN, Creative Writing and Music”.

Hiyaneijemmy’s article on the given topic was a beautiful exposition of the dichotomy that GenZ faces in the the era of Social Media. In the words of one of the judges, this ‘wordsmith’ has presented ‘facts nestled in articulateness’, making her a worthy winner of the prize.

The Telegraph Online Edugraph congratulates Hiyaneijemmy on her success and wishes her a fulfilling career ahead.
