Good news for candidates looking out for government jobs. Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of India has issued a notification for recruiting Management Trainees (Technical) in the organisation.

The recruitment drive is a special recruitment drive for SC/ST/OBC(NCL) to fill up 92 backlog positions of Management Trainees (Technical) in SAIL. The appointments will be made in the E1 grade in various Engineering disciplines. The application process is already underway and will continue till December 31, 2023.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is as follows

For SC/ST - 33 years

OBC (NCL) - 31 years

PwBD - 10 years over and above category relaxation

Upper age limit for departmental candidate - 45 years irrespective of the candidates

Educational qualification

Degree in Engineering with 65 per cent marks in relevant engineering discipline of Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Metallurgy and Mining.

However, SC/ST/PwBD/Departmental Candidates having Engineering Degree in required disciplines with 55 per cent marks (average of all semesters) shall be eligibile to apply.

Selection Process

Candidates will be required to appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT). The examination will tentatively be held in January 2024 a various centres across the country.

Exam Pattern

The online examination will be of 200 marks and will have two parts. This includes Domai Knowledge Test (duration 40 minutes) for 100 marks and the second part will comprise of Aptitude Test (duration 80 minutes) for 100 marks. This includes Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Reasoning, General Awareness of 25 marks each.

Candidates who qualify in the online examination will be shortlisted for Group Discussion (GD) and Interview in the ratio of 1:3 category wise, in order of merit.
