Techno India Salt Lake held its annual techno-management festival EDGE’23 on 12, 13 and 14 May 2023. It was organised by its official science & technology club, Geekonix. The 17-year-old fest was themed ‘Origins’ this year, which was accommodated across different pockets of the Techno India Main campus.

“It gives me immense joy to interact with the brilliant minds of this generation while conducting this fest over many years now. It creates a confluence of young intellects and a platform to germinate more new ideas by building an inter-campus space,” Prof. Dibyendu Banerjee, Teacher and Co-Convenor of Geekonix shared with Edugraph.

Over 500 participants registered for the 3-day inter-college fest, which hosted about 40 events. Eleven sub clubs from the college collaborated to organise the series of events in keeping with the interest areas of the clubs.

Day 2 saw the semi-finals of the events and inaugurated a photo exhibition curated by its photography club, Infocus. “EDGE is attempting to create a universal message that photography is about exploration and awareness of our surroundings. Competitions like this create a sense of harmony among students and we wanted to highlight the perspective of Calcutta’s veteran photographers where we can accumulate all the recent trends of photography by young photographers,” said Prof. Prithwiraj Pal, Faculty of Media Science Department and Advisor of Infocus. Day 2 ended with Bangla Rock music from the 1990s to the modern day. There was also digital storytelling of food by Mr Sidhartha Sankar Roy, aka Shidhu from Cactus and Mr Indrajit Lahiri, aka and founder of FoodKa, respectively.
