Army Institute of Management, Kolkata joins hands with Procam Group to set up a Centre of Excellence

Army Institute of Management, Kolkata (AIMK) and Procam Logistics Pvt. Ltd. joined hands together on 11 March 2023 to set up the Procam Centre of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at AIMK. Army Institute of Management, Kolkata, the management Institute of 25 years vintage is now collaborating with Procam Logistics Pvt. Ltd., a leader in the logistics industry, to work on various research projects which will contribute towards developing scientific perspectives of supply chain practices.

On this occasion Director, AIMK said, “Procam Centre of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at AIMK is set up with the purpose of conducting various activities like training programs, consulting and research projects in logistics and supply chain management. It is expected to contribute towards developing scientific perspectives of supply chain practices and improving collaboration for sustainable logistics research. It will help to develop a common knowledge-sharing platform and is going to immensely benefit the students of AIMK to face corporate challenges.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nilesh Sinha, Director, Procam Logistics Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are delighted to partner with AIMK to establish Procam Centre of Excellence on Logistics and Supply Chain as it will undertake research and development activities to create innovative solutions that can help the industry to address the emerging challenges and opportunities. By working closely with industry experts, the Centre will help to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs, ensuring that students are better equipped to enter the workforce and contribute to the growth of the logistics and supply chain industry. Procam Centre of Excellence on Logistics and Supply Chain at AIMK is expected to provide a wide range of activities for students and professionals from the logistics and supply chain industry and it will have a significant impact on the industry and academia, helping to create a more robust and well-rounded talent pool.”

Major General V S Ranade (Retd) Director AIMK and Mr Nilesh Kr Sinha, Director, Procam Logistics Pvt. Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work on various research projects which will contribute towards developing scientific perspectives of supply chain practices. The activities of the Centre of Excellence and the implementation of the MOU will be coordinated by Dr Abhishek Kumar, Principal and Dr Protik Basu of AIMK.

The Institute boasts of having a very strong and experienced Business Analytics team consisting of Dr Ayan Chattopadhyay, Dr Prasenjit Kundu, Dr Debaleena Chatterjee and Prof. Anindya Saha, who will work together with Procam Logistics Pvt. Ltd. towards developing a road index and such other research activities.
