The trailer for ‘The Matrix Resurrections’

It’s time to choose between the red and blue pill once more

Welcome back Mr Anderson! It has been a long, long time. Over 50,000 people were logged on to the Warner Bros. YouTube channel as the countdown for the trailer ticked down to zero and it begins with Neo (Keanu Reeves) in a therapist’s chamber talking about weird dreams. Along with Reeves, we have Carie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett-Smith reprising their roles as Trinity and Niobe. But there are a host of new actors like Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (looking like a young Morpheus), Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Jonathan Groff added to the cast. 

Set to Jefferson Airplane’s White Rabbit, which talks about blue pills and chasing rabbits, we see Neo taking blue pills till Abdul-Mateen II offers him a red one and tells him “it’s time to fly”.

After 18 years, Lana Wachowski takes us “back to where it all started... back to the Matrix” with shots of agents in suits, cats, running codes, bullets heading for Neo and slo-mo action. The film is set to release on December 22.
