The Space Viking Thor is back and has a fierce new nemesis. The Taika Waititi-directed Thor: Love and Thunder is the sequel to 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok and its new trailer just revealed a look at Christian Bale as the film’s villain Gorr the God Butcher.

According to lore, Gorr who is also referred to as God Butcher was raised on a planet without a name. He has a crippled leg and questions the existence of Gods, which would explain why he goes after the God of Thunder aka Thor. The character will make his live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with the upcoming Thor film. However, in comics, Gorr and Thor come face to face on many occasions over the centuries.
