In December 2012, Joshua Bearman wrote a scatching article in Playboy about how a Hollywood movie producer smuggled Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton into Cuba with some radical celebrities in the 1970s. The story is no less than an epic drama. Apple TV is finally manifesting it into the live action world, with their latest biographical miniseries, The Big Cigar. The show’s trailer gives us a glimpse of Andre Holland as Newton, along with the epic stakes of this story, that brought together showbiz with politics, surrounding one of the biggest figures of the African American community from the last century. The revolution arrives on our TV screens, on May 17.
