The Andrew Dominik film is an adaptation of a Joyce Carol Oates novel

Netflix just dropped a full-length trailer for the NC-17 biopic Blonde, starring Knives Out star Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe. The movie, based on a by Joyce Carol Oates, chronicles the life of the legendary Hollywood icon, whose real name was Norma Jeane.
The film depicts some of the most noteworthy moments from Marilyn’s life, including the highly-publicised Subway grate pictures and the famous song, Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. “The way Kennedy treated Marilyn Monroe was not, and is still not as different from the way many powerful men, especially in Washington DC, treat all women except their wives,” shares Oates, who calls Blonde a feminist movie.
The film also stars Xavier Samuel, Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody and Julianne Nicholson.
