Ricky Gervais reveals release date for the show’s final season

When After Life dropped its first season on Netflix, few could have expected the Ricky Gervais show to have the empathy it did. Teasing fans for over a year, Gervais finally announced January 14 as the date for the show's third and final season.

Famous for his edgy and offensive brand of humour, Gervais took this show in a completely different direction from his previous work, both as an actor and creator. In its first two seasons, After Life became a realistic look at grief and loss, while also giving hope and some laughs. 

The poster for this season shows Tony with his beloved pet, Brandy, as the tagline fittingly reads: ‘Every End is a New Beginning’. 

And even as we prepare ourselves for a cathartic cry, we can't help but hope that Tony finally finds some peace.
