'SNL' just spoofed the Depp V Heard trial

Twitter isn’t happy with SNL’s courtroom sketch

Saturday Night Live just spoofed the ongoing trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, specifically the hearing where the Pirates of the Caribbean actor claimed that he had found human faeces on the bed he used to share with his then-wife, in 2016.

 

During the sketch, the courtroom is shown a surveillance video of Depp's house staff discovering the faecal matter.

 

The judge (Cecily Strong) allows the visual exhibit to be presented because "it does sound fun, and this trial is for fun," she jokes. The Internet, however, isn’t too happy that the long-running show has made fun of a domestic abuse trial. “SNL did a sketch about the amber heard v Johnny depp trial and god damn I wish they were funny enough to get away with jokes about a domestic abuse trial,” wrote one Twitter user.
