Ranveer Brar pays tribute to Ray on the filmmaker’s birth anniversary

May 2 is a special day for cinephiles not just in Bengal, but all around the world. Satyajit Ray’s birthday saw tributes pouring in for the director from several walks of life. We particularly loved celebrity chef Ranveer Brar’s Instagram post, where he installed a poster of Manik da’s classic, Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne, encouraging followers to watch the mystical tale of music. Brar also lauded Ray’s ability to tell stories that were grim, simple and hilarious with equal skill. He further expressed his desire to have lived during Ray’s lifetime to experience his art in real-time, something that everyone in Bengal resonates with. Long live Manik da!
